🐾 HOMEWARD BOUND ANIMAL RESCUE — Volunteer Agreement & Liability Waiver

SECTION 2 — EXPRESS ASSUMPTION OF RISK (ARIZONA LAW)
I understand that volunteering involves inherent risks including animal bites, scratches, or kicks; exposure to zoonotic diseases, parasites, or allergens; slips, falls, lifting injuries; and unpredictable animal behavior. I knowingly assume full responsibility for ALL risks, known and unknown, even those arising from ordinary negligence of Homeward Bound Animal Rescue or its representatives.

SECTION 3 — RELEASE OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted under Arizona law, I release Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from all claims, liabilities, and damages related to personal injury, illness, death, animal bites, and property loss. This release does NOT apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct.

SECTION 4 — SAFETY RULES
I agree to follow all protocols; not handle animals unless authorized; use proper PPE; and immediately report any injuries or unsafe conditions. Failure to comply may result in removal.

SECTION 5 — MEDICAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I certify I am physically and mentally capable of participating. I understand I am responsible for my own medical costs and should maintain current tetanus and recommended vaccinations.

SECTION 6 — INDEMNIFICATION
I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Homeward Bound Animal Rescue from claims arising from my actions, failure to follow policies, or harm caused by animals under my supervision.

SECTION 7 — PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE
I grant permission for use of my image/likeness for social media, marketing, and fundraising (see selection below).

SECTION 8 — MINOR VOLUNTEERS
If under 18, the parent or guardian consents on the minor’s behalf and authorizes emergency medical treatment.

SECTIONS 9–13 — CODE OF CONDUCT, GOVERNING LAW (ARIZONA / YUMA COUNTY), SEVERABILITY, BINDING EFFECT & ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I agree to treat all animals and people with respect, follow all rescue policies, and understand this agreement is legally binding on me, my heirs, and representatives. I certify I have read and understood this agreement in full.
